Campaign highlights a danger found commonly in homes
Ipswich DIY renovators were warned they could be putting their families lives at risk because of hidden Asbestos in the home.
That was the message from the Asbestos Disease Support Society on National Asbestos Awareness Week from November 23.
ADSS General Manager Trevor Torrens says Asbestos could be lurking anywhere in homes built or renovated prior to 1990.
“It has been used in walls kitchens laundries electrical switchboards and even vinyl tiles so when you come to do a renovation you need to be aware as anything that looks like Fibro in a house built over 30 years ago should be assumed to be Asbestos”, he said.
