ADSS continues regional visit program

The Asbestos Diseases Support Society (ADSS) spent the last few months of 2016 reaching out to regional Queenslanders who suffer from diseases they have contracted from working with or otherwise handling asbestos. It was also a chance to meet their carers, families and friends.

This included visits to Toowoomba, Redland Bay, Rockhampton, the Gold Coast and Warwick, where they provided information to renovators at trade shows and hosted morning teas for members and their carers and friends.

ADSS Chief Executive Officer said it was important to let people affected by asbestos diseases to know there were other people living in their own communities who were going through the same issues.

The morning teas provided an opportunity to provide health, legal, and practical information and talk to people about issues affecting them individually.

ADSS hopes to continue its tour program in 2017.

Some photos from various morning teas can be seen below.
